On November 29th, Tel Aviv hosted the European Legal Tech’s Annual LegalTech Conference (ELTACon) produced by tech&law (Israel).<\/span> <\/strong><\/h2>

It was an amazing event with representatives from 29 countries, 3 years in the making, and 250 participants.<\/strong><\/p>

In case you missed it \u2013 here is a recap:<\/strong><\/p>

  • We kicked off the conference with an ELTA Ambassador’s meeting, hosted by H-F & Co. Law Offices where we learned about the next generation of legal tech from Darrow – an up-and-coming Israeli legal tech company.<\/li>
  • The main event was held at Beit Hasmachot Hall in Tel Aviv, where we heard welcoming words from ELTA president, Holger Zscheyge, and our own, Zohar Fisher, founder of tech&law (Israel).<\/li>
  • The event was anchored by the one-and-only Itzik Amiel, who gave us important insights about breaking paradigms and changing our mindsets to be focused on Growth.<\/li>
  • We had a warm welcome to the Startup Nation from Ziv Katzir, Head of the National Program for AI Infrastructure at the Israel Innovation Authority. Next up we were impressed by the advancements of Portugal’s courts with an overview by our guest, Secretary of State for Justice of Portugal, Pedro Tavares.<\/li>
  • Our keynote speaker, Eyal Shnarch, shared his insights on AI and the potential of what it can do.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The day was filled with insightful talks and debate;<\/strong><\/p>

    • Sebastian Hartmann, Vice President of Alliances at Intapp, discussing the need for strategic planning when it comes to legaltech.<\/li>
    • Boardirector by SQlink, one of Israel’s most successful RegTech companies discussed the definition of RegTech and the specific challenges in the field. Learn more about Boardirector’s capabilities here:<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      • We heard a fascinating discussion between Tamar Haramati, head of innovation at Shibolet & Co. and Jon Bartman, head of Jameson Legal Tech on how to identify the right technology in a world of choices including practical tips for legal strategy.<\/li>
      • Aidas Kavalis, co-founder of Amberlo enlightened us on growing your legal-tech startup internationally, sharing his experience building and expanding Amberlo from the Baltics to more than 70 countries.<\/li>
      • We had a progress update from Damien Riehl, VP of Litigation Workflow and Analytics Content \u2014 Fastcase of SALI Alliance on how SALI (Standards Advancement for the Legal Industry) is coalescing around the legal-data standardization which is permitting stakeholders, firms, and companies to make legal data interoperable.<\/li>
      • Next, we heard from Morly Dory, Founder & CEO of Global Pil, with real-world talk including her experience in developing a Reg-tech solution, setting goals, and how failures or success may change them.<\/li>
      • Finally, we were regaled by the moderator extraordinaire – Elliott Gotkine, journalist, presenter, and speaking coach managing a showdown panel on Law firms vs. New Law Companies, with\u200b Jackie Donner, Co-founder, and CEO of Lawflex, Yair Geva, Partner, Startups and Emerging Companies Group, Herzog, and Philipp Glock, Partner, Head of Legal Corporate Services, Head of IT & Innovation, Legal Operations & Technology Services at KPMG LAW.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        The conference was followed by drinks and networking at the conference hall of Herzog Law firm, which continued into the night.<\/p>

        We closed the festivities with a thought-provoking and tasty “Startup Nation” tour hosted by Naschitz, Brandes, Amir & Co. which included panels and presentations with some of Israel’s most interesting startups and investors.<\/p>
