Participants typically form groups of about 2-5 individuals, take out their laptops (if the event is technology themed), and dive into problems.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In particular, a Legal Hackathon is a marathon of legal innovation ran through the intensive work of lawyers-enthusiasts, IT specialists, mentors and all those who work at the intersections of law and technology.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Why do Lawyers need Legal Hackathons?<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Team:<\/strong> it is an opportunity for lawyers to create new teams or join existing teams.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Idea:<\/strong> lawyers can prototype\/test ideas. It is also an opportunity to experience the process of creating innovation.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Networking with legal tech-enthusiasts and experts:<\/strong> opportunity to be globally informed about lawyers\u2019 innovation solutions for the legal industry.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Prizes:<\/strong> the winners get prizes, such as the opportunity to participate in the global winning awards Gala and Finals in New York City, legal representation from top-tier legal practices and access to leading technological platforms.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Global Legal Hackathon<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Global Legal Hackathon (GLH) is\u00a0the largest legal innovation initiative\u00a0in the world. Its mission is bringing the legal industry together with tech and innovation globally with one purpose:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rapid development of solutions for improving the legal industry world-wide.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Israel Legal Hackathon<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With the aim of creating innovative legal tech solutions to further improve the legal service delivery in Israel, on February 2018, Israel became part of the host-countries of the GLH.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Overview of Israel\u2019s 2018 &amp; 2019 Legal Hackathons<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em><u>Israel\u2019s 1st Legal Hackathon (February 2018)<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Israel\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> Legal Hackathon was organized by Fischer Behar Chen Well Orion &amp; Co\u00a0(FBC &amp; Co) in collaboration with Tech&amp;Law Israel \u2013<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israellegalhackathon.co.il\/home\">LINK<\/a>.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Whilst FBC&amp;Co is an Israeli full-service firm, Tech&amp;Law is Israel\u2019s first legaltech community, which main purpose is to bring Israeli innovation to the legaltech sector.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nearly 100 people participated in Israel\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> Legal Hackathon. Teams developed solutions that fit into either of these two streams (the \u201c<u>Hacking Streams<\/u>\u201d):<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Private Benefit: The Business &amp; Practice of Law.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Public Benefit: Good Government, Legal Systems &amp; Access to Justice (A2J).<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u>About 2018\u2019s winning team<\/u><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Team \u201cRobota\u201d (Yulia Kniazev, Nir Forer, Orly Yeruham), who built a bot that enables people to file independent claims at Israel\u2019s labor courts was the winner of Israel Legal Hackathons 2018.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a prize, team \u201cRobota\u201d won the opportunity to participate on the global winners\u2019 awards gala in New York City, which took place on April 21, 2018, as well as one year legal representation by the high-tech practice of FBC &amp; Co., and the ability to attract investment in projects.<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em><u>Israel\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Legal Hackathon (February 2019)<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Israel\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Legal Hackathon was also organized by FBC &amp; Co in collaboration with Tech&amp;Law (Israel) &#8211;<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.israellegalhackathon.co.il\/\">LINK<\/a>.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This time, more than 100 people participated on Israel 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Legal Hackathon.
